It is about this time of year, high up on the dry plateaux of Mongolia that the nomadic herdsman will be carefully combing the super soft down from under the bellies and chins of their flocks of Capra Hircus goats – that’s cashmere goats to you and me. With around four goats needed to produce enough fibre for an average cashmere sweater it is not surprising that cashmere comes at no little expense.

Purl English strive to create articles of simple beauty, that have all the luxury that cashmere brings, but will also stand the test of time, making them ultimately superb value and creating a fitting use for a fibre that is so long in the making.
